"Stealing. That means someone OWNED Something. I didn't know the R's or D's OWNED a vote"
"To say that votes belong to the Democrats or votes belong to the Republicans is simply not true. Votes don't belong to the candidates; they belong to the voters."
"It's obvious that the Republicans and Democrats have made us an entitlement society when the thought of voting for another party is considered stealing votes. These two parties have been stealing from the people of Ohio for long enough, and it is time that the Ohio voters realized that the stealing of votes is happening when you vote for a Republican or a Democrat and expect change. It's a lie, there is no change when voting for one of them because they are both the same. They want big government, they want more money, and they don't care about the voters, they only care about their political careers. If people want real change, they need to change the way they vote, and stop letting Republicans and Democrats think they are entitled to the votes."
Responses that can answer both "Stealing Votes" and "Wasted Vote"
"The 1st amendment in the bill of rights, is first for a reason. The 1st amendment also applies to being able to express yourself in the voting booth"
“When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you still voted for evil.”
"Elections aren't about voting for the person you think will win. It's about voting for the person who best represents what you believe."
"Polls from the Summer of 2010 show that Americans want ANOTHER CHOICE and are not satisfied with the two old and tired parties from the 19th century."
"Why should we think that the R's and D's have some ordained "right" to a vote?"
"Why do we only allow for two choices? In our everyday lives, we make choices related to where we shop, the products we purchase, and the shape, color, and size of those products. Would we only allow ourselves to shop at ONLY two stores, or use ONLY two colors of products?"
"Why do we continue to align ourselves with two outdated and tired parties from the 19th century? If we did this in our daily lifes, we would still be using the pony express, the telegraph; or jumping forward we would still drive a Model T, own black and white television with no remote control, and listen to music via an 8-track player. Things evolve, there are new ideas, and old ideas and products are replaced with new brands."
"Voting for Democrats & Republicans is like being in an abusive relationship -- We just keep going back to the people who've done so badly by us. Get out of the abusive relationship -- chose Libertarians."
"We have a two-party political duopoly in the USA, that sets the rules for elections and ballot access. Yet, if two large corporations got together to prevent a smaller business from competing, Federal Anti-Trust laws would kick in, with the potential of serious penalties."
"The two major parties only care about holding onto POWER at ALL COST. What we have are two major political parties that are beholden to Big Unions and Big Corporations. So, where do the citizens who own small businesses and pay the bulk of the taxes in the USA fit in this situation? Time for a NEW political party that represents the MIDDLE CLASS, which is the largest voting block. At least today it is the largest."
"Who says a small political party couldn't grow and get their candidates elected in the USA? In the early 60's a small import motorcycle was introduced to the USA. In 1969, that same company, introduced a small import automobile to the United States. At first, many people ignored or disregarded it, while some laughed. From the Cub motorcycle and the N600 automobile, the Honda Corporation grew into one of the largest producers of automobiles and motorcycles in the USA and the world. Enough said.""Who says a small political party can't go against all odds and win in the USA? In the 1770's a rag-tag bunch of American citizen patriots fought the largest standing army AND navy in the world, AND WON. Those patriots fought and died in order to gain freedom."
”There is Coke and there is Pepsi. But some of us like RC Cola or 7-Up. There is Krogers and there is Wal-Mart. But some of us like Whole Foods or Trader Joes. The Libertarian Party is the Uncola or Whole Foods of politics”."Look at it this way. With a strong 3rd party in the election, the winner won't have to worry about winning with 51% any longer. Somewhere between 35% and 50% will be enough".
“Since 1788, it took 192 years before we went the first trillion in debt in the USA. It was late 1980, just before Ronald Regan took office as President. That was the first trillion. Now, we knock that off EACH YEAR and have been doing that under Republican AND Democrat leadership. Are we nuts?”
“The two parties have got us into this fiscal nightmare. One party wants to TAX and SPEND us into the ditch. The other party wants to CUT TAXES, CONTINUE SPENDING, and put us even MORE IN DEBT.”
“The Two-party system has got us into this mess. We have handed the keys to our future to two wolves, and we are the sheep in the next room.”
How to answer the question of the "Wasted Vote"
“A wasted vote? As I look at how the two major parties have bankrupted the country with unsustainable debt, I think we should not “waste” our time voting for them any longer. We need a new way.”
“A wasted vote? A wasted vote is to vote for something you don’t believe in, or the lesser of two evils.”
“Sometimes I feel like I wasted my vote on the R’s or D’s for all those years, until I found the Libertarian Party.”
"The only vote that is wasted is the vote that is used to PREVENT another candidate from winning. Voting to prevent someone from winning is more of a wasted vote than voting for someone you believe in"
“There are two race teams with Major sponsors (the R and the D team). One car has a top speed of 170 mph and the other tops out at 140 mph. Which team do you want to join in a race? Oh, I forgot to tell you that along the race course, there is a cliff and BOTH cars will eventually go over the edge—one a little sooner than the other. This is what is happening with our country when we let these two “teams” run things. Why waste time with them? BTW, there is another team, albeit small, that has a car that is actually speeding AWAY from that cliff. It is called the Libertarian Party. Think you might want to join that team?”
“A wasted vote, a waste of time, and wasted support. Reminds me of the CLEVELAND BROWNS football team. It has been a long time since December of 1964 when they last WON a professional football championship (before there was a SuperBowl). Yet people still love the Browns, go to their games, and wear their jerseys. If the logic of the wasted vote applied to the Browns, we would have been told many years ago to drop the franchise and support the Cincinnati Bengals or the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Dog Pound is full of libertarians.”
